dress rehearsal

Some of the long list for the Quadrant exhibition at this time. Assembled only to give me an idea as to what's missing (neeed more greens for one)so I can complete the last 9 bottles hence poor layout for photographic purposes. Marquette bowls have glazed well and their larger cousins, presently in the bisque, should provide a good counterpoint to the tall forms.

Exhibition quality at last

Finally - these three suitable for exhibition. More to come. Photos a bit dark.

Moon pots resurrected

These were originally made and glazed ages ago but suffered in a kiln breakdown. The second one from left was refired using a white talc glaze but it wasn't improved. Last week before consigning them to the bin, I threw them in a raku firing as is. Surprisingly quite interesting.

new new bottles

These were made last week - I am trying to reconcile bottle height with more appropriate neck height to prevent distortions in the final fire. It is a fine balanace with making the forms extravagent and yet successful without collapse. It has been a long experiment. Another 3 to finish in this group and still more to make before I can select for my final exhibition. Pressure!
