This pot is coiled and pinched from re-cycled red clay. I intend to glaze the 'dress' & 'hat' parts in autumn colours using a combination of stains and glaze while leaving the 'feet' and 'face' natural terra cotta. Another experiment! Note the autumnal colours in the background. I will post a photo of the finished pot if it is successful.

Autumn doll
This pot is coiled and pinched from re-cycled red clay. Landscape pots - first larger scale experiments
These are partly thrown and handbuilt - the grogged sections have distorted the pots somewhat so in the next experiments, I have placed those bands near the bottom. The landscape bands specifically - with the hills and sky are referencing Colin McCahon's Northland panels which I admire. The pots are 40cm high.

Remix
The background to this remixed image is part of a painting I did when I was looking after my elderly mother in Brisbane last year after she had had a fall and broken her shoulder. It is the view from her lounge which is a waterfront apartment block.
She has just had another fall and is very frail - I have manipulated the original image and superimposed another manipulated photo of my home here in Dunedin. This remixed image is for her - although I can't be there this time to help, she knows I am looking at her from inside my house and just outside the window of her own place.
There is no point me doing any further work on this image as with the system of marking in place, although I have done what is required, I will be marked subjectively. Besides, it would be gratuitous to add anything extra to this.
